Trym Publishing Ltd. publishes the books of Bristol author Caroline Wallis.

Caroline Wallis

Caroline Wallis spent her childhood in Bath, Somerset making up stories and imagining herself to be someone else or something else - it made life more interesting, just as books do.
Unfortunately spelling was not her strong point and so she never considered herself to be good at English or to try writing as a profession. She started Nurse Training in 1978 and enjoyed every moment - well almost every moment; there was inevitably the odd time on night duty when at three in the morning and covered in someone else's excrement any nurse wonders why they are doing it. It is at these moments you think of your patient and how they must feel, a skill needed in writing too.
A few years living in Berlin with her husband and two children rekindled the idea of a story she had started long ago. Now she was not working and had their first PC (complete with wonderful spell check) all to herself during school hours. 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' was the result, a rough manuscript which she now plans to re-write with the experience she has gained over the last few years.
Back in Bristol she went back to work as an Outpatient Sister. Using the time walking to and from work as thinking time, she came up with 'Hotspots', which was inspired by a newspaper article about the possible dangers of Wi-Fi in our schools. Prompted by readers’ interest in Tom and his unusual problem, a sequel 'Dark Times' is now available.
